OUR RELIGIONS’ SCRIPTURES OFFER US GREAT TRUTHS. BUT NONE ARE CONSISTENTLY TRUE. FOR THE SPIRITUAL TRUTH MUST FOREVER TRANSCEND MERE WORDS. THE SPIRITUAL TRUTH IS MYSTICAL AND SACRED AND IS OF THE SOUL AND THE HEART, NOT OF THE MIND. THE SPIRITUAL TRUTH CANNOT BE DEFINED BY, OR BOUND BY, THE MERE LOGIC OF WORDS. THE SPIRITUAL TRUTH TO WHICH WE ALL ASPIRE, IS FOUND BEYOND THE HEAVENS, AND ALSO DEEP IN OUR SOULS AND HEARTS. OUR GREAT SPIRITUAL AWAKENING, SO NEEDED BY US FOR OURSELVES AND BY OUR MOTHER EARTH, OUR HOLY GAIA, COMES NOT FROM TURNING THE PAGES OF BOOKS, BUT COMES FROM TURNING THE SPIRITUAL PAGES OF OUR SOULS AND OF OUR DESTINIES.

Scriptures have been handed down as if they are the final word in humanity’s pursuit of religious and spiritual truth. But they are not. The world’s different scriptures clash. We do not even have original texts. We just do what we can with the earliest extant versions we can find. We treat these Words of God as the unchanging Words of God. Perhaps they are, in a sense. They are unchanging, in the same way that the text of a Jane Austen novel is unchanging. But in the meantime, over the centuries, the world has changed, and more importantly, we have changed.

THE UNCHANGING WORD OF GOD ONLY LIVES THROUGH US: OUR EVER-CHANGING SELVES. THE ANCIENT WORDS OF OUR SCRIPTURES MUST FOREVER BE REINTERPRETED AND RE-UNDERSTOOD, AS WE EVOLVE SPIRITUALLY, AND AWAKEN SPIRITUALLY, AS WE AT LAST TOUCH THE SACRED AND MYSTICAL MEANING OF THE UNIVERSE AND THE MYSTICAL AND SACRED CENTRE IN OUR HEARTS.

Amongst the great ‘gifts’ in humanity’s possession are the sacred scriptures that have been passed down to us through almost countless generations. They are indeed gifts. But they are NOT treasures: NOT if they bring us into conflict with the adherents of other scriptures, NOT if they excuse us from thinking for ourselves, from seeking God and the heavens within our own souls and in our own precious words; and absolutely NOT if they lead us beyond temptation into the treacherous ‘comforts’ of religious exclusivity. Our spiritual and sacred purpose on our Planet Earth is not to remain true to ancient thinking. Our purpose is to remain true to the higher spiritual and sacred purposes of ourselves and our fellow men and women. We as human beings have evolved physically over the aeons, and we continue to evolve mentally and spiritually into the aeons that lie ahead of us. The great and profound reality of our time is that we are rapidly becoming ONE world. Our thinking, if it is to be truly spiritual, truly of sacred worth, truly touching the mystical, has to be embracing and inclusive. We have ourselves and our world to be healed. We are NOT spiritual museum keepers, we are spiritual pilgrims on a spiritual and sacred way towards each other, and thereby through each other, unto the heavens and God. We are changing. We must ensure that we change for the better, by changing together.

Scriptures must be reinterpreted, because humanity’s consciousness evolves. As we evolve and learn, so do we enter into new heights of understanding. With new heights of understanding, our scriptures must be known anew. How else, otherwise, can we be true to ourselves, and true to the infinite call of the heavens? We so often have made of our scriptures, our so-called sacred Words, idols to worship, to bow down to, to follow regardless of all else. We are spiritual pilgrims who are better than that. We are not religious automata; we are the children of the heavens who seek the spiritual truths appropriate to our times. No spiritual truths can be absolute, for spiritual truths embrace multi-dimensional planes of hallowed existence. Our own languages, and thereby our logical languages are grounded in the three-dimensional reality of this physical plane. To get even a feel or sense of the heavens we must escape the limitations of language and logic, and also escape the limitations of exclusivity that our limited language and logic can condemn us to.
